What is Johnson Wedge Wire Screen?
Johnson wedge wire screen is a filtering device commonly used in water wells, oil wells or environmental monitoring wells. It is mainly used to filter impurities such as sand, sediment, etc. in liquids while maintaining smooth passage of liquids.

Main structure and features
- Burnt wire structure: It consists of longitudinally arranged support rods (usually stainless steel or high-strength alloy) and wedge-shaped metal wires wound on the support rods. The cross-section of the wedge-shaped wire is trapezoidal, and a continuous V-shaped gap is formed after winding. The gap width can be customized according to needs.
- Material selection: Commonly used corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, polypropylene, PVC, etc. are suitable for different environments, such as groundwater, salt water, and chemical liquids.
- High flowability: The gap is uniform and not easy to clog, which can effectively filter particulate matter while maintaining high flow.
Application field
- Water well: Prevent sand and gravel from entering the well pipe and extend the life of the water pump.
- Oil/gas well: Prevent sand and maintain production capacity.
- Environmental monitoring: Filter soil and groundwater samples in monitoring wells.
- Geothermal engineering: Used for liquid circulation in geothermal wells.

Compared with traditional slotted screens (slots are cut directly on the steel pipe), the Johnson screen has a more precise wire structure, better slot consistency and stronger anti-clogging ability.
