What is Coanda Screen?

The Coanda screen is a device used in fluid dynamics to control the flow of fluids, typically air or water. It's named after Henri Coanda, a Romanian inventor and aerodynamics pioneer. The Coanda effect describes the tendency of a fluid jet to adhere to a nearby surface instead of continuing in a straight path.

A Coanda screen consists of a flat surface with a series of closely spaced, parallel slits or holes through which the fluid flows. When the fluid passes through these openings, it adheres to the surface of the screen due to the Coanda effect. This adherence causes the fluid to spread out along the surface, effectively changing the direction of the flow.

Coanda screens are often used in various engineering applications, including aerodynamics, fluid control systems, and water treatment. They can be used to redirect airflow in ventilation systems, improve the efficiency of propulsion systems, or enhance the performance of water treatment processes by increasing contact between the fluid and a treatment medium.
